Fairbridge House

Fairbridge House

Fairbridge House was built in 1921 as the family home for Kingsley Fairbridge. The unique pise (rammed earth) construction of the ground floor is the only one of its type on the site. Kingsley has anticipated building all the lower parts of the building in pise but was unable to find a contractor who was familiar with the method. After 1924, Fairbridge House was known as the Guest House; boasting many notable visitors including Queen Elizabeth’s Mother, whilst she was the Duchess of York.

This beautiful cottage can accommodate 24 people and is fully equipped with kitchen utensils and dining wares. Its proximity to our Chapel makes Fairbridge House popular for weddings to accommodate the bride and or groom’s family members.
